Light, both natural and artificial, can be considered one of the most important elements in architecture and interior design.
This is exactly what we kept in mind when taking on our latest project for Belfast architects Philip Rodgers Design. The client required a cluster of Eclipsis reverse light fittings to provide clean looking feature inside the Lincoln Building (one of their own design projects). Being an architectural design firm, they recognised the importance of great lighting that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for the space – and so chose our Eclipsis lighting to create a striking feature that complimented the circular alcoves in the ceiling.

Our Eclipsis lights were perfectly suited to this particular job, due to their clean, modern and innovative design – but also because they can be fully customisable. Each fitting for this job was different from our usual Eclipsis fittings, with a 1500mm outer diameter and 140mm depth, making them deeper than our standard fittings. This made the fittings really stand out, showing off the inner stainless steel band and creating a striking centrepiece within the space.

In addition to the Eclipsis Reverse light fittings, the client also required another custom cluster of feature lights, which we handmade to order. As this was a high-end space requiring a completely bespoke solution, we worked closely with the electrical contractors and architects who specified out lights for the project.
To compliment the Eclipsis light fittings, the design was to also feature numerous poles of different lengths hanging from the ceiling; powder coated white with illuminated ends. We achieved this using powder coated steel tubing and a custom made opal acrylic end that housed a custom LED bulb that we built specifically for the job. These were attached to the ceiling using a locking mechanism making it appear as if the poles disappeared flawlessly into the substrate above.
The end result of this job was a beautifully bespoke display of feature lighting; bringing style, intrigue – and of course light to an already stunning space.
